Board Chair
Carl Friesen

Carl Friesen is an academic researcher and policy analyst involved in fundraising, organisational planning, and public engagement for DKSM. With a deep passion for both music and education, he is excited to advance DKSM's mission of delivering high-quality music education across Southern Manitoba.

Vice-Chair & Secretary
Heather Menzies

Heather Menzies has been on the Board of Directors since 2018, currently serving in the role of Vice-Chair and secretary. She has been playing in the orchestras since 2009, and in high school played in Douglas Kuhl's original community orchestra. She loves the intergenerational, community focus of these orchestras, as well as the opportunity to continue to make music with other people.

Jason Vanwynsberghe

Jason Vanwynsberghe is a Violin Teacher and Ensemble Director with DKSM, also assisting with program admin and budget planning. He is passionate about building community through music, and creating diverse musical experiences for students and musicians to be a part of.

Kirsty Howatt

Christiana (Kirsty) Howatt is a private music teacher in the Manitou area. She also works at our local library and has University degrees in Music and Law. Kirsty is the current Chair of the DKSM Board of Directors and she is proud to volunteer her time to support quality music education in Southern Manitoba.

Ainsley Kroeker

Ainsley Kroeker is a DKSM Violin Teacher and Program Director, she's also involved with fundraising and program planning. She loves to hear students make music together and enjoys being a part of their music learning journey.

Rebekah Miller

Rebekah Miller has worked as a DKSM Violin Teacher but is currently spending her time at home with her young children. Rebekah has a passion for early childhood education as well as music therapy.  She is excited to see what the future holds for DKSM and provide her expertise as a member on the board.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
