Lives transformed through music

VALUES

Affordable

We strive to be affordable for all people so that students are not hindered from participating in our programs due to a lack of financial resources.

Intergenerational

We are intentionally intergenerational, bringing together people of all ages to sing and play music.

Regional

We are regionally focused, utilizing resources, building musical capacity, and fostering a culture of music across Southern Manitoba.

Capacity-building

We strengthen the musical skills, competencies, and capacities of participants so that they can handle challenges confidently and contribute to their communities meaningfully and effectively.

Community-building

we build community through music by providing programs where individuals strengthen their relationships with each other, their program group, and the communities where they live.

LAND
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

DKSM is grateful to teach, learn, and play music on Treaty 1 territory, the ancestral homelands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We are thankful for the benefits sharing this land has afforded us and we commit to being part of the ongoing process of reconciliation through our programs.
